Since I haven't read Brown's book, I can't actually comment on its content...but I wanted to mention that the cross-disciplinary work I'm doing on critical thinking pedagogy resonates with some of what Brown seems to be talking about. I'm co-facilitating a seminar this week about Essential Questions (akin to Big Ideas) and how faculty can organize course content and activities to point toward these Essential Questions so that students focus as much on the point of the content as they do on the content itself.Wish we could be sitting by a fire with martinis chatting over this.
