Friday Funk

I'm in a bad mood.  A really bad mood.  A black miasma kind of mood.  And yes, I've even medicated with a chocolate martini.  As a writer I feel guilty I'm not expressing this in metaphor, but really, I'm in a fuck-it-all place.  I will get back to you on Monday.

I'm also feeling guilty because I didn't get Steph's birthday card (for her birthday yesterday) finished.  It's going to be belated.  Obviously.

In the meantime, go go go go go to Elizabeth's blog where I'm the featured guest (is that what you're calling it, E?  Well, it sounds good, anyway) for her 451 Friday.

Go enjoy your weekend, people.  I need you to send as much positive karma this way as you can muster.


  1. gee. Maybe two chocolate martinis??? three? four? (although if they are real type martinis to which chocolate has been added (can this really be tasty?) maybe not).

    I hope things get better!

  2. Babe - first we're going to do a pitcher of margaritas each then we'll ditch the lime and go straight to the tequila, after which we're going to a biker bar to play pool and dance with everyone. Everyone. Then we're going to do some wild stuff.

    We'll end the night at dawn by having pancakes in an all-night diner.

    If you can still remember why you're feeling blue after that, we'll have to go the whole hog and do Disneyland too.

  3. Personally, I'd just skip the martini part and go straight for the chocolate--it always works for me. Although JaneyV's solution sounds much more fun :)

  5. I know, I was devastated when Cal lost to Maryland in the opening round, too. You just have to remember it's only a game and there's always next year.

  6. Aww. I hope you do something you enjoy to make you feel better. Personally going for a walk, going to the gym, or otherwise doing something active always helps for me.

    And no worries about the card, silly--you've done more than enough for me with your kind words and your friendship. :)

  8. Been there. It usually has something to do with working too hard toward a a goal in the immeasurable distance. I find that a good night's sleep and a lazy day (Saturday?) can help me regain perspective.

    so the card is late... she won't die cuz it is... may be a tad upset, initially, but getting it is MOST important
