Flat Affect Romantica

I have the plague (or its second cousin once removed which still reduces grown people to whiny little snot heaps) and my voice sounds like more grotesque version of Maxine's.

Still, I have been looking forward to participating in Robin's latest voice challenge so here it is.  The challenge for V-Day was to make something romantic sound as unromantic as possible.

I can't get podbean to obey me, so you'll have to go elsehwere to listen to
"Groovy." Sorry.

Well, just so we're clear that I don't yell at my kids more than seventy times a day, it's actually my sister and my son, being goofy on cue. Do you think that's enough to get a SAG card?

  2. Ah, the products of romance added such a moving soundtrack, LOL.

BTW, podbean didn't appear for me, so I clicked on the link.

  3. I don't believe I've heard your voice before. I really like it. Even the yelling bit. Groovy.

  4. You sound wonderful. It wasn't so much that you didn't sound romantic as the situation didn't. It took me right back to when my kids were little and romance had a hard time to get a look in.

  5. I don't know why, but I couldn't make this link work, Aerin.

I heard a few words, and then silence, but I'll try again!

  6. This is the BEST, I love this. Wonderful!

For people struggling with this one, try downloading it (save as) and then playing the saved file. It's SO worth it.

  7. I literally laughed out loud, as Timothy was looking at me and hearing you with a very puzzled facial expression! Great!!

  8. This reminded me of a commercial for a dating service I once saw. The guy comes home and in his apartment are flowers and lit candles. "Thanks for a GREAT first date," says a sign on the coffee table. He moves from room to room and the signs slowly get more desperate. Finally, "DON'T EVER LEAVE ME!!!!"

Your diddy reminded me of that. But you've got a great speaking voice. I even liked the screaming.

  9. I'm so sorry I missed this before - my brain's too gunked up with snot to do anything intelligent. This was great! LOVED IT! I can't hear the plague at all. You have a lovely voice - even when shouting.

As for yelling? - what's a family without some yelling?

"KNOCK IT OFF!" - The mantra of the mother!

  10. This is superb.

The fruits of romance becoming missiles in the stocks of life.

  11. OMG. That was so well done. It actually sounded romantic near the beginning but it got so very wonderfully off before too long.

  12. spectacular! wishing I would have saw this challenge 'cause I think my 4 screaming munchkins plus a barking dog in the background might have been a nice complement to your lovely piece here.
