I wasn't sure I would participate in the Book Giveaway Carnival, since I'm in the middle of NaNoWriMo.
But I will be opening a NaNo Support Contest next week, and I want y'all to come back for it.

ReplyDeleteyou just want Christian Bale to leave a comment-????? geeze I just sent him to go run you a bubblebath and wash your hair-then a deep massage.... oh well...when he gets there tell him you just want him to talk :)..JUST TALK!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll leave a comment while I get in touch with Christian Bale. Oh no, I'm not a stalker, he really talks to me. Yep, he really does. ;)
ReplyDeletehematopoiesis at hotmail dot com
Wow - you have excellent taste - Christian Bale and RSL are my fave actors ever. And Robin McKinley is pretty darn awesome (I recently read and reviewed Chalice).
ReplyDeleteI've read And Then We Came to the End, How I Live Now and The Bean Trees but not the others.
You've gained a follower :)

Awesome giveaway! We should talk sometime sweetie, my four year old has autism too. I haven't talked about it on my blog. Aren't they such a blessing! thanks for participating and god bless.
ReplyDeleteYou made me snort with the "automatically wins" comment. LOL How do you snort in internetese? Just curious......
ReplyDeleteChristian Bale will not be commenting. Because I plan to kidnap him and make him my lurv slave... just sayin! (and jk, I am not a weirdo stalker type person. Really)
Thanks for the chance to enter!

ReplyDeleteknittingmomof3 AT gmail DOT com
While I should try to come up with something interesting, I stink at interesting. Really I do, I try to come up with something clever and every brain cell in my body just goes far, far away. Maybe I should get that checked, huh?
ReplyDeleteBut, I'd love a chance to enter. Thanks!
Very nice selection of books, thanks for entering me!!
ReplyDeleteAll the books you mentioned sound really interesting, though I hadn't heard of most of them until now. I'm sure they would all be great reads, so please enter me in your contest.
ReplyDeleteIf I could only be so lucky has to be in contact with any of those three. :)
My email address is rmsacks at hotmail dot com.
There is such pressure to be witty. And I'm comment 19 - witty was taken. I will tell you I like the look of your blog and the theme. Nothing to do with the contest but it is the truth. And I see several books on this list I would enjoy. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI think Robin McKinley might be too busy trying to figure out if there's still any sort of sense to be made from the sparkly Twilight vampires and if it at all makes any sense with her view on vampires and moonlight (I'm thinking no but she insists that since her book isn't a movie yet there might be)....
ReplyDeleteOh christian bale is so hot! if i could speak with him....haha :D
ReplyDeleteplease enter me I would love to get to win then read any of those books especially and then we came to the end I've heard tons about it! :D

Ok so this is off topic, but I really like your background and header! Very original!
ReplyDeleteOk...well sorry to disappoint you, I'm no Christian Bale, but does the above flattery count? (actually, it's not flattery, I really like it!)

Sounds like a great list of books. Thank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I left Christian Bale's email address in my other pants!
ReplyDeleteSeriously thought: why am I punished because of my last name? When I voted this morning, those with last names H-N could walk up and vote, but I had to wait in a 40-minute line.
AH, RObert Sean Leonard. My favorite part of House MD. I've been a fan since I saw him in the wonderful 80's flick "My Best Friend's A Vampire." Good stuff. Oh, wait, books, right. I'd love a shot a winning a book, since RSL seems to be taken!
ReplyDeletethank you for having this! THis looks and sounds like an excellent read. Thank you!

ReplyDeletejchoppes[at]hotmail[dot]com
Oh Christian Bale... He's been a love of mine since way back when I was in elementary school and I saw Newsies for the first time. (You know, that silly Disney Musical about the newspaper boys of the early 1900s, co-starring Bill Pullman as a hard-hitting reporter with a heart of gold? Where Christian Bale not only dances but sings a heartfelt, plaintive ballad to the whole of Santa Fe? And in spite of this everyone still treats him as if he's a badass?) He and who kid who played Spot Conlon were my very first childhood crushes. I haven't seen the movie in years and yet even as I type this I realize I'm humming "Carrying the Banner" under my breath. Ah, the soundtrack of my youth. No wonder I turned out the way I did.
ReplyDeleteOh, and thank you for the giveaway. I love free books almost as much as I love inappropriately referencing obscure musicals. Almost.
boldnessbe(at)gmail(dot)com
First off, I'd love to win a book. But, don't say that too loud...my bookshelf might hear and groan even more.
ReplyDeleteOn the choice of "dream commentors" (is that "or" or "er"? Mac spell check isn't helping), I've never been all that much of a Christian Bale type of gal. Just not quite my type. Robert Sean Leonard though...yeah, whole other story. Been there since Dead Poets Society. Him and young Tom Cruise (Top Gun vintage, way before Katie Holmes and all those movies where he didn't get to smile much. I confess, it's all about the smile there.) Sigh. Okay, back to the real world.
Thanks again for the chance to win and this pleasant distraction from my average Wednesday evening.
ruthann (dot) francis (at) gmail (dot) com
I would love to be entered! Oh and Christian Bale is on the phone, he says he will be at your place in 3...2...1....oh, wait, that's MY door bell..oops, gotta run!!

ReplyDeletenatasha_sacopaso[at]hotmail[dot]com
I just read The Red Tent by Anita Diamant and would love to read more! Please count me in.
ReplyDeleteWell, since I live a very normal life I have no access to such rich tasting men, so I'll just leave a plain old comment and keep my fingers crossed and hope that it is enough.
ReplyDelete*Insert witty comment here*
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that your blog header is awesome. Love that little person with the big, big telescope.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
ceashark at aol dot com
So many great books! I really hope I'll be the first place winner so I can choose at least two! ;)
ReplyDeleteSara
What a great selection of books! And, unfortunately, I am lousy at coming up with witty/interesting things to say either in person or via a blog -- which is why I'm seen as hopelessly shy -- sigh. I read a lot instead :-)
ReplyDeletevmlay@artsci.wustl.edu
lol I only wish I knew Mr. Bale.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I really want the Meg Rosoff. Hmm, I wonder if I could e-mail Christian Bale and ask him to leave a comment her. It might work, but he'd have to read the e-mail in time. Besides, what if you just got a comment from a secretary pretending to be Christian Bale?
ReplyDeleteAm I too late?
ReplyDeleteI only like How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff. I hope I win something...
Nice giveaway. Thought I should take the chance to ask is there any specific meaning to your blog name "In search of Giants'? Just curious.. :D
ReplyDeleteWonderful giveaway. Thanks! aewalls425@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great list of prizes. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have my pom poms all ready so I can cheer you on in the NaNoWriMo.
ReplyDeleteOh, and please enter me for the book prizes
They all sound great..thanks!
ReplyDeleteSince I know no one awesome at all, never mind Christian Bale, I suppose my odds of winning even one of these great books are distressingly dismal, but I have to give it a go anyway!
ReplyDeletedreamseeker52 AT gmail DOT com
